Leadpages Alternatives: Landing Page Builders Compared
Leadpages is solid, but you may not need to pay for a dedicated tool at all.
Leadpages is one of the longest-established dedicated landing page builders, offering drag-and-drop page creation, a library of templates and built-in A/B testing. It is designed specifically for marketers who need to build high-converting campaign pages quickly without involving a developer.
At around £37–99 per month, Leadpages is a meaningful ongoing cost. Depending on how frequently you build landing pages and what your existing website platform is, one of several alternatives may suit you better — or a dedicated builder may not be necessary at all.
Unbounce — the conversion-focused alternative
Unbounce is the most direct Leadpages competitor, positioning itself specifically around conversion rate optimisation. Its Smart Builder uses AI to suggest layouts based on your industry and goal, and its Smart Traffic feature uses machine learning to route visitors to the variant of a page most likely to convert them. These AI-assisted features are more sophisticated than anything Leadpages offers at a comparable tier.
Pricing starts around £60–70 per month, placing it above Leadpages’ entry tier but below its higher plans. For businesses running regular paid advertising campaigns where landing page conversion rate directly determines campaign profitability, the additional sophistication of Unbounce typically pays for itself quickly. For businesses building one or two pages per year, it is probably more than needed.
Instapage — the enterprise option
Instapage is aimed at larger businesses and agencies managing high-volume paid advertising. Its post-click optimisation tools, personalisation by audience segment and collaborative review workflows are designed for teams managing dozens of active campaigns simultaneously. Pricing reflects this positioning — starting at over £200 per month — making it unsuitable for most small businesses.
Where Instapage makes sense is in an agency context or for businesses spending significant budget on Google Ads or LinkedIn Ads where even a one or two percentage point improvement in landing page conversion rate produces a strong return. For everyone else, Leadpages or Unbounce are the appropriate alternatives.
Swipe Pages — the mobile-first budget option
Swipe Pages is a newer landing page builder that has gained popularity for its Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) support and faster load times on mobile. Its templates are modern, its editor is clean, and its pricing starts from around £25 per month. For businesses whose paid traffic arrives predominantly on mobile — which is the majority — the performance advantage of AMP landing pages can produce measurably better conversion rates.
It lacks some of the depth of Unbounce’s testing tools and has a smaller template library than Leadpages. But as a budget-conscious alternative for straightforward campaign pages that need to load quickly on mobile, Swipe Pages is worth evaluating before committing to the more established (and more expensive) options.
When you might not need a dedicated landing page builder
If your website is built on WordPress, Elementor Pro or Divi include landing page building capabilities within your existing site licence. Pages built within your CMS benefit from your domain’s existing authority and do not require a separate subscription. For businesses that need one or two dedicated campaign pages per year rather than a continuous flow, a custom-built page within your existing site is almost always the more economical and technically superior option.
We build landing pages as part of our web design and PPC support services. If you are running Google Ads campaigns and need a landing page that converts better than your homepage, get in touch — we give specific recommendations based on your campaign and audience rather than generic advice.
Our view on Leadpages
We are a Norwich agency established in 2015, and we have worked with businesses on both sides of this comparison over the years. Our honest view: the right choice depends on your business, your team and where you want to be in two years — not on which platform is currently the most talked-about.
