Cookie Policy
How and why Xpose uses cookies on this website — what they are, which we set and how to control them.
Last updated: 24 June 2026
This cookie policy explains how xpose.online, operated by Xpose Web Design (“we”, “us”, “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. “Similar technologies” such as local storage work in much the same way. They’re widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to understand how a site is used.
How we use them — and your choice
We keep cookies to a minimum. We only ever set strictly necessary technologies without asking. Anything else — in our case, analytics — is set only after you accept through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. This is how we meet our obligations under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. You can change your mind at any time (see “Managing your cookies” below).
The cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifespan | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary — always active | ||||
xpose_cookie | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies so we don’t ask you again. | Until you clear it | Xpose (first-party) |
xpose_theme | Local storage | Remembers your light or dark theme choice. | Until you clear it | Xpose (first-party) |
| Analytics — set only after you accept | ||||
_ga | Cookie | Google Analytics 4 — distinguishes one visitor from another. Your IP address is anonymised. | 2 years | |
_ga_R3PZB1FDS8 | Cookie | Google Analytics 4 — keeps track of your session state. | 2 years | |
The two “strictly necessary” items above are stored in your browser’s local storage rather than as traditional cookies, but we list them here for full transparency. They contain no personal information and are never shared.
Third-party cookies
The analytics cookies are set by Google as part of Google Analytics 4, which we use — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used. We enable IP anonymisation. You can read more in Google’s privacy policy. We don’t use advertising, social-media or other third-party tracking cookies.
Managing your cookies
- On this site: to change your choice, clear this site’s data in your browser settings; the consent banner will appear again on your next visit and you can accept or decline.
- In your browser: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies. Search your browser’s help for “cookies”. Note that blocking strictly-necessary items may affect how the site works.
- Google Analytics: you can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
